What do we do at the Eco-Health Center?
We are funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences to do research, train emerging scientists, including community-based scientists, to address the health impacts of extreme heat and wildfire smoke in California.
Our team works on:
Inviting community members to contribute to science. Communicating findings from university researchers to communities working on climate-related issues in a variety of formats. Facilitating partnered research to improve the health impacts of extreme weather and climate change in California.
Community Advisory Board
We are forming a Community Advisory Board, aiming to recruit members who come from different regions across California, serving a broad range of communities impacted by extreme events. We are also engaging with community members, service providers, and advocates across the state to learn more about the best ways for us to share study findings with communities, and to bring innovative ideas that come from communities into our research.
